Ranking System & Class Assignment
Ranking System
Enrolled students will be given information concerning minimum sash requirements. These "Minimum Sash Requirements" will mostly detail what forms will be expected during tests. Other material, such as demonstrating technique applications, essays, sparring, knowledge of school/kung fu history, etc... may not be included. In the beginner and intermediate levels, students will know exactly what is expected of them for their test.
Children's Ranking System
White, Yellow, and Orange Sashes (0-1 yr.)
Green, Blue, and Purple Sashes (1-2 yrs.)
Brown, Red, and Black(Jr.) Sashes (2 + yrs.)
Adult Ranking System
Beginner Level (approx. 0-1 year)
Intermediate Level (approx. 1-2 1/2 years)
Advanced Level (approx. 2 1/2 years +)
Black Sash
The time periods for each sash/level are estimated. Students that are less dedicated or less consistent in class may take longer to advance in rank.
CLASS ASSIGNMENT
Tiny Dragons: 4-6 yrs old
Little Dragons: 7-9 yrs old
Gold Dragons: 10-12 yrs old
Iron Dragons: 13-16 yrs old
Adult Kung Fu: 17+ yrs old
Our aim in these programs is to instill long-term benefits in both physical and mental endeavors in our students by improving their self-esteem through self-defense abilities coupled with a sense of discipline and honor.
The children’s program at our academy is based on the same training as the adult’s program, but has been tailored to fit various age groups, as well as attention spans. Students will learn a variety of Shaolin animal style forms, and will train in a variety of kung fu weapons, such as short stick, long stick, and sword. As their abilities increase, the level of difficulty in training will increase.
